As New Zealand’s most experienced ship
brokers, Workboats is most qualified to undertake
independent valuations. Workboats’ expertise is called
upon by New Zealand’s High Court, by accountants,
solicitors, the police and the Ministry of Fisheries.
Independent valuations are often required
for insurance purposes, tax assessment, before the sale
of a vessel, to obtain finance or settle a dispute.
The valuation process combines three
steps:
1. an inspection the
vessel by a party that understands the vessel
type
2. market research, looking
at recent sales of similar vessels, utilising the
Workboats network of brokers from around the
world.
3. Finally, a bound
written report is provided, which includes a description
and photographs of the vessel, examples of similar sales
and a valuation.
Workboats valuations are known for being
accurate, comprehensive and credible
